Have you ever worked with it?

Only superficially, I am not a fan of Java.

Hello,

sorry for bringing up the old topic here, but I hope to get some experience with EnOcean technology and the associated components here.

We are having a 70-year-old house rewired electrically (sockets, lighting, etc.). Shutters and other components are also to be electrified. The whole thing should then be accessible remotely via the internet.
I hope I understand it correctly, with EnOcean technology we would have the advantage that we are fully flexible regarding the switch placement and would not even have to lay cables there separately. For example, for the lighting, you could simply run power to the desired spots, place an EnOcean-capable module in between, and then I only need an EnOcean switch which I can position freely anywhere in the room.
Has anyone else thought about this themselves or even done it this way and possibly compared the prices to other systems?
How stable is the system? Are there any latencies with EnOcean light switches (delay time) until, for example, a light or socket is switched?

Best regards & thanks in advance

EnOcean push buttons generally have a slightly different feel than the well-known ones. You just have to try it out. Furthermore, there can of course be a certain latency. In addition, the push buttons also make noises. All of this is due to the nature of the technology.

It is stable, however, as with any system, it can happen that messages disappear, and since nothing is resent with EnOcean, you may have to press twice until something happens.

Hello,

after being ill, I ordered an EnOcean set and built a small test rig. I would like to share my experience and opinion with you.

I integrated the universal dimming actuator “FUD61NPN-230V” into an old dimmable bedside lamp and was able to conduct tests in the house. The wireless switch “F2T55E” is loose anyway.

In the 14 x 12 meter house, it actually worked across (~18 meters on the same floor and one floor below.
Two floors and lower sometimes did not work reliably.
Of course, you have to say that the range was not influenced by furniture and people. Furthermore, such long ranges are not necessarily needed.
In my opinion, if you position the central unit (gateway) well, it simply receives the signal just like the executing actuator?
Example: I press the wireless switch, the actuator in the same room receives the signal (turns on the light), the central unit (gateway) also receives the signal and if connected to the “www” I can also immediately see in my console (tablet, phone) where lights are on, etc.

Is that so?

Oh yes, the switch/the switching actually feels different, but I would accept that for the advantages of this system.

Thanks & regards
