It depends on the layout, we live very well with our 2 children in our 88m2 with basement. We sleep in the attic, the children are on the upper floor and downstairs on the ground floor is the living area.

On 100 sqm of living space, one can definitely manage with two children. After the first one, however, if another is desired, there should be no twins. :)

Respect, here we (also 2 kids) hardly manage in 105 sqm apartment + 20 sqm basement (which is basically full of wheels + trailer and car stuff (bike rack, roof box, etc)) (storage space :/)

So we managed perfectly well in exactly such an apartment in front of the house. Without a house, we also had much less stuff. In the house, you usually have more basement space and often also a garage, a carport, or a garden shed or several of those. You don’t always need a palace. For that, we have little to clean, little to heat, and little to insure.

Exactly, about not seeing the forest for the trees and the good being so close: many townhouse interested parties are not even aware that "townhouse" means having neighbors who can share experiences with the same model from the same year of construction. It is also secondary how many houses the "own" block has, as often even more identical models stand around in the same settlement. The likelihood that no one still has any building plans is low. And with a construction year "before 69 years ago" there will already have been several ownership changes and renovations/modernizations in various scopes and qualities in the neighborhood. With such a richly equipped analogue environment, I would not go digital to inform myself.

We did exactly the same. That way, you can get an overview... of the house condition AND future neighbors (which is not unimportant!).
