Good evening,
We are still before the submission of the building application and have already been thinking about the topic of building services engineering for several years.

Info about the house:
Single-family house with basement and garage
Construction type: solid stone or solid wood not yet decided
Roof type: shed roof facing south
Large window areas facing south

Our questions:
Which heating system is recommended here?
(we have a large basement and have already informed ourselves about ground source heat pumps and wood chip heating systems)
My husband finds underfloor heating uncomfortable.
We also want the possibility of cooling in summer (possibly also through an air conditioning system). Photovoltaics are suitable due to the south-facing orientation with low inclination. We would be very happy about tips or experiences.

Could it be that you are even much further ahead, namely before finding a plot of land, and are naively thinking on a blank sheet? - a development plan is not a wish concert, but has its own specifications. Perhaps it dictates a different ridge direction and/or a roof pitch that is low in efficiency for solar gain and/or only allows the attic to be half-developed and facade windows only on the north side. Then all your beautiful optimal planning fantasies are of no use. Otherwise, show the plot of land and fill out the questionnaire .

Good evening,
We are currently developing the property and are in the fortunate position that there is no zoning plan in our area. We would appreciate responses on the topic of heating technology.
Best regards

Enlighten us: what is fortunate about that?

There are loads of those in this forum. But I wouldn’t put the cart before the horse.

So that means it’s out? That would be unusual for a new build.
What exactly does your husband find unpleasant about it?

What kind of standard do you have in mind? Passive house?

Are you building with an architect?

Anyone who finds underfloor heating unpleasant either has a poor or no underfloor heating.
