The idea of the layout on the ground floor basically appeals to me, only the staircase seems very short. Since no measurements are visible here, you should check that. If it is actually too short, it would not be a problem on the ground floor, but in the basement. The tip you often read here, namely to start with the upper floor, you should definitely reverse due to the hillside location and plan the basement first. Unfortunately, that is no good...

The bedroom is out of the question and even if the house were 1m wider, it would remain a small room. Moreover, it seems as if the windows are located under the terrace. The dressing area in the bathroom is also rather unusual.

In my opinion, that is an open space and not another living room.

Exactly, it is supposed to be an open space on the ground floor... !! That word was missing earlier...

And yes, the staircase is indeed too short... we are currently also discussing how to design the basement efficiently... maybe any suggestions?

Oh, the exterior staircase in the design reminds me very much of The elevation point display now seems to have north at nine o'clock (?) and unfortunately shows few points on the property - does the slope continue more or less evenly there?

Should work also be done in the office, in the sense of home office? If yes, I would strongly advise against the division and recommend a separate room. The distractions are simply way too big...

I am afraid that for the dimensions of the house and the special situation that 2/3 of the basement is embedded in the slope, the straight staircase is not suitable. And even with a different staircase, given this house width, you can only place 2 rooms at the front with nice natural light. I would widen the house and make it narrower or consider an option where the master bedroom is not on the same floor as the children in the long term.

Good thought. We had considered that too. Would it be enough if we only enlarge the basement in width and then use the basement extension as a roof terrace for the ground floor, or does that not make sense?

Yes, work should definitely be done there. Possibly we will then extend the wall up completely...

I’ll take a look at what you mean right away... I don’t quite understand it yet.
