I regularly walk through my entire house naked. Should I be concerned?
Too bad. I actually find the unused space important. It would be a chance for climbing roses or bushes to frame the whole thing.

Yeah, such a gable is really awesome! But I don't exactly imagine it as a snap...
There are daylight spots from Velux - maybe a cheaper alternative?! (without knowing what something like that costs...)
Brick is not really my favorite either but I really like the house!
Anything that isn’t a city villa is ALWAYS very sympathetic to me!

The Velux windows or light wells are also a consideration, but my wife has currently decided to make the whole thing more open. Although that is certainly a matter of money. When we have the numbers on the table, we will decide. Thank you for helping us convince even some opponents of bricks a little about bricks.

Hello everyone,
Thanks also to some of your tips, this is now our final draft. The sketch shows a possibility for the attic, so that we get both storage space and an area for the children. The light well is also planned, windows can of course only be cleaned with a tall ladder, but that will work. For the bricks, we decided on the Deppe DF 1622ek.
Our architect estimated the whole nice piece in KFW55 at 340,000€. I'm curious how much it will actually be.

So thanks again and I will surely ask one thing or another here again or simply report if interested.
Best regards
Henning

We naturally expect to be kept up to date later in the house pictures thread as well.

Is there a sliding door running in front of the wall in the bedroom? If so, I would definitely have it recessed into the wall. Otherwise, you can't hang a picture, mount a TV, or perhaps place a small shelf there.
