Your ceilings must be quite low, judging by your window heights and stair steps.
They won’t be very high, the architect already told us that. With a 5.70 m TH, it will probably only be 2.50 m.
Then take a look at your bathroom
The architect drew it correctly; I swapped the shower and toilet. The layout for the T-bathroom is therefore clear.
That’s enough!
We will definitely try having a window in the north wall. Another solution to the TV placement problem would be to hang it on the wall between the two terrace doors. With a hinge, so that it can be swung towards the sofa. This way, you could theoretically also watch it from the dining table. On the other hand, we don’t really want the TV in such a central spot in the room, since we watch very little (about 3 hours/week).
I actually found the entrance area quite okay in the original post. Also the shower.
What we like about the original solution is that the entrance area is wide and bright and there is easily enough space for a 2 m wide wardrobe. We can’t really imagine the bathroom in that shape. It somehow feels cramped because it’s long and narrow.
Don’t you perhaps want to switch to a shallow gable roof and put the chimney on the exterior wall instead?
We want the stove as a room divider, maybe not as massive as drawn. If the budget gets tight, the stove will be the first to go anyway.
Some might still be bothered that all guests have to pass through the kitchen first to get to the living area
Thank you very much for your suggestions! We imagine that the sofa corner behind the stove is somewhat separated and therefore quite cozy. We don’t mind that guests have to go past the kitchen; on the contrary. When guests are here, the kitchen and dining table are the central points. We hardly ever sit in the living room with guests.
From my point of view, the room visually enlarges through the terrace door in the living room. That’s why we would at least like to have a single-leaf door there.
We are already quite satisfied that the floor plan basically works. The primary question is an optimal solution for the entrance area.
