Hello,

we want to use a drainage channel with a stainless steel cover instead of the classic shower tray in our planned shower.

Assuming the installer does not make any workmanship errors, is there anything special to consider with this project?

For example, will the tiles and grout eventually become very unsightly or calcify too much, etc.?

Maybe someone here has already gained experience with this?

Best regards
Ostsee

If everything is done properly, I was told there are only problems with the joints (soap residue). Scraping out after years is not possible. Well, if necessary, I'll take a permanent marker and repaint the joints :)

Hello, assuming your installer makes no craftsmanship errors, I see no technical difficulties with your solution. I myself lived in a house built in 1972 where a tiled shower was installed in the sauna area. Apart from the usual signs of wear and tear, after almost 30 years at the time, there was nothing to criticize about the entire system. The tiles were white and the grout was gray. If the usual cleaning processes are carried out consistently, I see no problems regarding wear or appearance.
