Is that a 1.20 wide shower door or how should one imagine it???

It is/was a 1.20m wide sliding door. Back then, we visited a bathroom exhibition and selected the toilet, washbasin, and so on. Our selection requests were then passed on to the general contractor’s plumbing company, which prepared the offer for us. We have not yet received an invoice, but the upgrade from the standard is settled directly with the plumbing company, as was the case with the electrical work.

We are now also at the point of removing the shower enclosure from the offer and commissioning it elsewhere.
The plumbing company alone wants 135€ net just for taking the measurements. We can certainly get that cheaper by going directly, just not before moving in :-/

hm.. I can't really imagine that a sliding door wouldn't fit. Then it just overlaps a bit more.. DO you know for sure that your door doesn't fit or do you just THINK so??

I also had concerns with our shower wall.. due to the tiling, the 120cm dimension also got smaller for us.. the delivered 120cm panel (was actually narrower) and afterwards had plenty of space. The side mounting provided enough play to compensate for that.

So they are taking measurements after all? How can it be that the door doesn't fit later? €135 is, by the way, a normal price... Why not before moving in? You can go to the next hardware store and someone will come to measure tomorrow. The part will then be installed 1-2 weeks later.

I just measured.. our "120" shower screen actually has a glass size of only 115 cm. The glass is held by a lateral metal strip. The glass runs in about 2..3 cm here (there would still be more space). So lots of room.. I could bet that this is quite common and it generously compensates for the tolerances..

The position "Aufmaß" was only added now when we raised concerns. The shower enclosure we selected has a tolerance of only 1.5 cm. The sanitary company confirmed again today that the standard model would not fit. Thank you for measuring again , maybe your model is more flexible.

That is good news. We thought that with custom sizes there would certainly be longer delivery times. We will discuss it today with the construction manager and maybe the sanitary company also has a cheaper solution proposal. Good to know in advance that €135 for the measurement is normal.
