This is actually a stroke of luck for you: you can practically procure all sensors yourself and, because the bus equipment is only powered with low voltage, install it yourself without worries.
I did it that way too, although I was not allowed to procure everything myself....

So far, I don’t know of a single case where a server broke down without external influence, even devices over 10 years old in some cases; what should break there? SD card yes, but the problem is not only with Loxone (see Solarlog, where it's really expensive) – remove the card, insert the card with backup and it works again. But otherwise, well you surely know more cases where a Miniserver crashed without external cause. Whoever can program KNX can also write to an SD card with backup; with Loxone this is now even easily possible for laypersons.

Hello Mycraft,

I ultimately decided to go with the KNX option. Together with the electrician, I adjusted the hardware again to our needs, so now I have landed at just under €13,000. I think everyone can live with that now.

There is still the possibility to do the programming yourself. That means the basic settings are done by the electrician, and the fine-tuning after an introduction is then done by me personally.
This will reduce the effort costs again, which are currently still included in the offer "depending on effort."
I think it has become a fair compromise.

Yes, if you catch someone who knows their stuff, the prices usually don't end up being that high (provided the wishes are not utopian). Since that person generally knows what is possible and what is not, and how to use the devices across systems, not just using the roller shutter actuators only for roller shutters and switches only for manual operation.

I am now also considering the Shelly Pros, but I have not yet discussed this with the electrician.

May I ask why you ultimately dropped the Shelly Pro?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I haven’t been around here much lately. One of my reasons against the Shelly environment is that the blinds cannot be controlled in a granular way. I also have the impression that Shelly automations are more suitable for “tinkerers & hobbyists.” For my part, I want to make a certain basic parameterization that is then set and can be expanded as desired. Furthermore, the KNX variant simply offers unlimited possibilities and adaptation of the entire house electrical system and smart home functionality. For a house building project with a volume of about €750,000, these €15,000–20,000 are at least invested in a future-proof way. Usually, one only builds once in life. But there are supposed to be exceptions... :D Regards
