Backing up is extra. But it reassures me that it is not so overpriced. I really found it surprisingly expensive.

That doesn't really work because the L stones and backfilling behind the house are directly adjacent to the rear house wall. If someone other than the person who did the waterproofing of the earth-contacting wall does it, then we have a warranty problem in case of possible moisture damage. Then there would be two possible "culprits." It's better if the person who also built the shell construction does it. We just have to live with the price now.
