You understand incorrectly because [WDVS] is not waterproof - it can be bypassed.

I had luckily already discovered many defects back then which were also fixed immediately, but I have to agree with you, I will certainly never be friends with this architect in this lifetime, I could have saved myself the architect, I did most of it myself anyway.

Looks like botched work. Here are some example pictures of our house, before and after the ETICS. In the end, a dimpled membrane still belongs on the facade, and then the splash guard strip or, in this case, terrace paving.
