"...Pour asphalt screed is only possible as long as the windows or glazing are not yet installed!"
Sorry, dear community, but when such blatant nonsense is published within the framework of the discussion here, I have to raise my voice once!
A poured asphalt screed can of course also be installed with glass panes already installed. Why not? The high installation temperature of the screed (today around 170°C) has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the windows! Why should it?
A few years ago, in a high-rise building in Trier to be renovated, poured asphalt was recommended and installed everywhere due to the lack of floor build-up heights. Just like in thousands of residential buildings every year. Moreover, the screed may only be installed if external weather influences (such as wind and driving rain entering the rooms) can be excluded.
If (and here I deliberately address only all so-called half-knowledgeable people) if a request from the community is brought to us, those without expertise should not actively participate in a confusing game caused by false reports.
The basic idea of choosing a poured asphalt screed can actually never be wrong. Unless the area is too small.
Because no asphalt worker will turn on a 5m³ heater for (for example) only 5m² of surface area! Due to the required thermal energy.

The mastic asphalt is applied at a maximum of 230°C, this temperature is sufficient to heat floor-to-ceiling glazing on one side and partially to the point of damage.

These thermal stress cracks are well documented and verifiable;

Once again: whoever does not know the current state of affairs should refrain from such publications. Cast asphalt screeds were (this tense is correct) installed at temperatures up to 230°C. However, for about 2 years now, only at around 170°C. If low-level window panes are found, they can be protected with heat-resistant insulation materials during the screed installation period. The myth of bursting glass panes during an installation is therefore something for cold winter nights to entertain children by the open fire. From a purely technical perspective, however, this statement has no lasting validity! The hot cast asphalt is still mostly carried piece by piece on the shoulders of construction workers to the processing site. Certainly a very unpleasant job, which also does not lead to the explosive shattering of glasses in people who wear glasses.

So, a quick update.... the tiles will be done, and we'll see where we end up with the budget, maybe the windows are still included.

But I'll get quotes for that once it's finalized.
Thanks to you all

Hello,

some time has now passed and numerous construction measures have been carried out.

The floor was a big issue and we have (in my opinion) found a great compromise.

A screed floor (not as cloudy as exposed concrete) but also seamless (expansion joints, of course, are present) and we were able to extend this floor completely from the normal floor into the shower and over the wall in the shower.

In combination with the reclaimed oak planks in the living room, a real eye-catcher.
Attached are a few pictures.

Best regards, Claudia
