Hello everyone,

We are currently at the sampling stage. Regarding the roofing topic, we are pretty unemotional, but we are still interested in the differences. The color should be granite or anthracite ([on the pictures both look identical?]) but maybe also deep black. Can someone help us with the decision?

1.) Braas Harzer Pfanne 7 (Granite) = +/- 0 €
2.) Braas Frankfurter Pfanne Matt (Granite) = + 2,150 €
3.) Braas Frankfurter Pfanne Seidenmatt (Granite or Deep Black) = + 2,150 €
4.) Braas Rubin 9V (Matt, Edelengobe, Seidenmatt) = + 1,500 - 2,700 €
5.) Braas Rubin 13V (Matt, Seidenmatt, Hochglanz) = + 3,500 - 6,000 €

Thanks to you all!

I absolutely can’t find that the colors look identical and suspect that you compared Google images instead of going to the manufacturer’s website. There you could also see clear differences in the profiles and above all that your list compares apples and oranges: positions 1 to 3 are roof tiles, whereas positions 4 and 5 are roof shingles. Harzer or Frankfurter are different "profiles". The numbers 7 / 9V / 13V mean the approximate number of stones / tiles per square meter, so a larger number means smaller stone / tile.

For the dark grey tones you don’t have any choice at all, as there is only one each - albeit sometimes in different surface qualities. Apart from the fact that I personally find black ugly here, I advise against it for a practical reason: it doesn’t stay “perfect black” forever (unless you drive your roof through the car wash every Saturday) - so I see dark grey as the better choice.

We have Harzer Pfanne. However, in deep red. The standard would have been Braas Doppel S. Harzer is a bit cheaper. We looked at photos of bungalow roofs and thought the Harzer looks better than Doppel S with the low roof pitches. We then had the right to choose the Harzer in surface quality Star matt. This is smoother than Classic matt. It is supposed to delay moss formation. The roof looks really pretty covered with it. Pleasant symmetry. Calm appearance.

Thank you! That already helps. Price-wise, 1 - 4 are very close to each other. Assuming the profilings don't matter to us. Which number would then be the "best" choice in terms of weather resistance / storm resistance?

From a gut feeling, it would probably be the 9V in Edelengobe at the moment...

No. The thing with clay tiles is really just aesthetics. A concrete block withstands weather and storms just as well. Really. Storm resistance is more a matter of anchoring.

Depending on the roof shape, you might never see the roof again

But no matter what you choose, treat yourself to an engobed surface.
