Probably because it is very abstract to decide based on patterns. At first, we also wanted to go the always same white/anthracite way. We thought it looked nice. Then we thought about it and realized that we actually find it totally boring and started looking at colors. But that wasn’t easy either. We had a basic idea, four plaster patterns, and spent about 8 weeks every weekend going there and holding them up at all sorts of places, in different light. In the end, we chose a color we were quite skeptical about at first because of the pattern. I then said, "Come on honey, let’s do it like this!" We then took the plunge. In the end, it was exactly the right decision.

I have an anthracite-colored front door with a lot of frosted glass area. It is rather bleak to approach and come home to. I would have preferred a bright color.

I find your house's color scheme terrible. Too "southern German" and too boring for me. Personally, I would definitely choose colored window frames and a colored door. But I also like it colorful. :D More than most, probably.

We actually don't like windows on doors. This one is completely sufficient. We also initially planned two side panels, but these have now been cancelled.
