Roller shutter control via Shelly 2.5, any experience?

Hello,
First of all, we have consciously decided against a smart home but would like to partially control our electric roller shutters via mobile phone or voice command. (It was a cost issue and our general contractor also didn't really have the expertise for it.) In doing so, I came across the Shelly 2.5.
Are they recommended? Are there better alternatives in the same price range?
Is there anything to consider with traditionally wired roller shutters with switches at the room door? Since our shell construction is still in progress, we could still take some things into account if necessary.
Thanks for any information.

The Shellys work well and are virtually unbeatable in this absolutely lowest price segment.

I would install push buttons instead of switches. They are simply easier to operate because the rockers won't be constantly in different positions. However, you should have them installed directly because you cannot operate the shutters without Shellys using push buttons. Shellys also work with switches.

Make sure you have sufficiently deep boxes so that the wiring can also fit inside.

I have just installed it the same way myself. But I can tell you that even with deep UP boxes it’s not a fun task! At least as an electrical layman, I wasn’t aware of how much is going on inside such a box. It’s a frustrating and fiddly task. Solvable, but you need to be aware of that. I took 15-30 minutes for each of the first 4 Shellys.

You have already been informed about lower doses. However, I cannot fully understand the recommendation for push buttons instead of switches. Especially with switches, you remain flexible and can control the roller shutters both via smartphone (as mentioned here) and manually at any time!?

But switches block each other or remain in the down position. Push buttons do not. That is why push buttons are used with Shelly. The same thing happens. Operation via push button/switch, as well as app.

Nothing is blocked there. Since the switches are only routed to the Shelly, there is no locking involved. Example: switch for down clicks in -> shutter goes down to the stop -> in the app command "up" -> shutter goes up as far as you want -> if you want to switch at the switch again, you first turn "down" off again, and can then operate normally. You lose absolutely nothing there, and even gain the option to fully lower without stopping.

edit: We have 2 switches per shutter. Unfortunately, I don’t know how it is with a rocker switch.
