If the subsoil here hadn't become so hilly (2m filled up, now everything is still settling), I would find my lawn amazing ... it is from a roll turf specialist in the region ... but I can't say I had even a spark more work than with the self-seeded one ... I fertilize both, both are maintained by the robot ... seed mixture was from Amazon ...

As with everything: always in the eye of the beholder and according to the requirements.

we bought an old house and renovated it with great trees, hedges, shrubs, and roses, all very wild and easy to maintain.

a smooth green roll lawn then naturally looks somewhat different than if it is surrounded by gravel and stone gardens.

Roll lawn is certainly no guarantee, but what most manufacturers deliver (I now have 4 here in the neighborhood) is already very, very neat.
For a similar result, you really need perseverance and simply a lot of time.

level with quartz sand. This way you get an even surface and the soil structure also improves. Do not fill more than 1-2 cm. Otherwise, you will have to reseed. So better bit by bit.

Hello

I expressed myself incorrectly

we don’t want a real golf lawn

We just want a nice green normal lawn that you can simply walk on and play on and preferably is robust and also forgives small mistakes

We would of course pull out weeds if they get out of hand, but we prefer to leave the mowing to the robot

I also understand that you have to do other things in the garden from time to time, like fertilizing, scarifying and so on, but I just want to save myself the weekly or biweekly mowing

Lawn should be mowed at least every other day. Therefore, the decision for a robot is absolutely the right one. Use a sport and play lawn from a roll turf manufacturer.

ok so a sports and playing lawn

But what about the lawn specifically for mowing robots

they should also be very durable
grow rather wide
and decompose quickly to serve as fertilizer

available as seeds and also as sod
