According to [Paragraf 40 VVG], you have a special right of termination if the premium is increased without an increase in benefits. You have 1 month to do so. You can terminate at the time of the premium increase. In the case of such an insurance, I would make use of this as quickly as possible. And look for something new on the common comparison portals. I find the premium way too expensive anyway, but it depends on what you have included and what you want to have.

That's why I assume it's a mistake, or it's the construction price index, because there is no indication of an increase or SoKü in the letter.

I also find it relatively expensive. Although compared to my first residential building insurance, it's still okay. It depends on square meters, and for the residential building, we have almost twice as much as for the old house. We also include the rooms under the garage there because there is underfloor heating, etc.
The premium of 584 was still okay in comparison. A lot was covered as well. The one of 744 is getting too steep for me.

Well ... doesn't the insured object basically change, first the shell, then the shell with underfloor heating, and now the completed building?

Maybe you should also check in parallel where the premiums currently are if you take out a new policy .. Check 24 for example.

We had 2 objects in the first insurance certificate. Once the combined residential building (this is about the finished building), as Object 1, and once the fire shell construction, as Object 2. Object 1 had a premium of €584 - which, by the way, is also what the agent who was here locally told us the residential building would cost later. There was no mention of shell construction with underfloor heating or similar. When the underfloor heating was switched on, we simply switched completely to the residential building. The shell construction insurance was free of charge in combination with the other. If the insured object had changed and that caused the increase, then a) our agent would have lied to us coldly, and b) I think the employee at the hotline would have been able to see that and explain it to us. But he also couldn't tell me where the higher amount came from.

What I don't understand is, what does that have to do with the underfloor heating (Fußbodenheizung?)?

You switch to the residential building insurance once the house is finished, that is, ready to move in. That's how it was for me. I had the package from the insurer that the construction company worked with. When it was finished, the structural insurance ended and switched to the residential building insurance. And after 2 years of "holding period" I then switched to another one.

The construction contractor explained to me that with the commissioning of the heating system, the insurance will be changed so that one is covered in the event of water damage.
