Replace a standard washbasin with a washstand system myself?

Yes, I don’t really understand that either. But that’s how it is now. The standard washbasin costs about €150 including accessories. I think the loss can be borne. Especially when you compare that the washbasin we prefer costs up to 60% less elsewhere. Aren’t the drain and angle valves usually mostly standard?

Yes, normally. Of course, it depends on the wording in your contract. For us (since we were able to remove the items), only angle valves and drains were installed. I was more concerned about the positioning of the valves on the wall.

Replacement from standard to desired system almost always works, that's what they live on. If the removed basin then "coincidentally" fits into the utility room that is prepared for it, that would be great.

So we solved it like this:

The sanitary person from the GU excluded the basin for a laughable credit (IIRC around 30 euros) and instead downloaded the installation plans for the desired basin from the manufacturer and gave them to the sanitary person. He then placed the valves and the drain accordingly and—very important: told the drywall installer where to reinforce the pre-wall for the installation. It worked perfectly! The only thing we forgot was the base cabinet, meaning we then had to fix a wooden strip with 8 dowels to the pre-wall without reinforcement and attach the cabinet to it, instead of 2 as planned.

And: we bought and stored the basin immediately after signing—not to risk it being replaced by a new series or the mounting points changing in the meantime. ;)

The advantage of installing the standard washbasin is also that all connections work and are tight, I think. If you add something yourself and then discover the fault, everything will surely be blamed on you. We are facing a similar issue. If I choose that route, I will at least tell the plumber to leave out the silicone. Otherwise, it causes a lot of unnecessary work.

What did you install? Washbasin on base cabinet or why was that a problem? I was actually planning to screw the base cabinet directly into the drywall pre-wall (double-layered). Do you see that as problematic?

When using the right anchoring, no. For example, something like this: hollow wall plug expansion plug set steel M4 and M5 anchor plugs drywall plugs
