What kind of road was it then, if not a proper one? What was it made of? Was it visible, through gravel or sand, so that a craftsman could see that something was still happening there in whatever direction? If your house was already built 50 cm above normal, what did the paver adapt to? The front door, garage, or entrance platform? He probably took the corresponding slope into account, so now only a difference of 20 cm remains to be considered?

I generally find 2000 a bit much – in our new development area, the street pavers took care of our connections individually, also gladly for a crate of beer for the end of the day :)

The road is a temporary construction road. Very thin tar surface with many cracks and rough edges. Unfortunately, I cannot describe it differently. The paver aligned with our front door and also incorporated a certain slope. However, he now wants to remove about 40cm² from an approximately 80cm² driveway.

And what do _you_ want?

I am of the opinion that he planned incorrectly and as a result the costs are far too high. I am willing to pay money for the adjustment. But not 2000€ for something that was known beforehand. The end edges have also been completely concreted. Which on the one hand is good, but with the knowledge that a road will be added there is unnecessary.

Known yes, but only to you.

I still consider the price for the 40m² to be reasonable. That would probably make it clean as well.

He can also just redo the front meter. That would be about 6-8m² and correspondingly lower costs. But then you have a kink in the driveway at the front and about a 20% slope on the front meter. That is neither optimal for your car nor for a wheelchair.
