After painting, the parquet came next. That was easy and even fun. Originally it was nailed (I spent evenings removing the nails from the grooves), we used screws. Fortunately, I had also kept the tongues, so it was just a matter of hard work.

Just asking by the way: a huge fuss about the little "square" and in the end, there’s only a table with a chair? Or was that a different room now? I have seen the floor plan, but I’m not 100% clear on what the current state is. Did you put walls into the "Saal"? Would you put it in here again and explain?

but gladly. The "cube" is actually the small room at the top left (the tiny "corridor" directly below is now the bathroom, by the way). It is now also properly furnished as a guest and work room. And in the "hall" there is a wall where something was subsequently drawn in with pencil. But I don't know if it was originally there. But that clearly shows what I mean by "uninhabitable floor plan." On the left, a tiny kitchen and bathroom are squeezed in, while the left half of the hall is a through room of over 20 sqm. By the way, that's next on the list. We want to lay the two remaining stacks of parquet there, which will then become the library.

If the walls marked with pencil are in there, they are definitely not load-bearing and could possibly be removed again. Then put in a wonderful open space there including kitchen, dining, and cozy area. What is now the kitchen could then become a bathroom with the bedroom opposite. Well... if you need more ideas, just let me know.
