Renovate the core of the old house or build a prefab house?

I actually once heard about a company where EVERYTHING!!! is prefabricated, how that works, no idea. The bathrooms are already installed, electrical etc. They advertise that they come in the morning and you can already put the pizza in the oven in the evening. But they charge a lot for that...

So with prefab house providers, you can tighten the times a bit; however, you still have to calculate in months. After house installation, you can manage moving in after 3 months. On top of that comes demolition; however, if there is a basement, it is even more difficult. I would add another 1.5 months to the 3 months. What kind of times did you calculate?

Hello again, here I am again....

First of all, I understand everyone who was surprised when I wrote the price here...sorry I didn't mention that this is a leasehold property that we are taking over from our current landlord. I also know that the whole leasehold thing is really complicated but this is the only way we can take right now. We don't want to move away from this area and with 3 children I also don't want to live in a small apartment. So leasehold - we are only buying the very old little house and thus the right to use the land for the remaining 75 years.

There were also construction companies as well as a prefabricated house provider. We know that we ourselves have to reckon with at least one year..production-basement-installation etc. The best thing is probably to get an expert who can then tell us exactly. Where can I find a good [Sachverständigen]?

Why, it's great, isn't it? That’s the whole point of leasehold, to help people in areas where they would otherwise be hopelessly too poor to own a home. 75 years, that’s enough. And if the leaseholder is the church or the city, renewal of the lease is likely. Go for it. That’s like winning the lottery in Munich. If push comes to shove, you first spruce up the old building. Gradually. ... You have to be lucky sometimes!
