Hello everyone,
I want to install a new socket 4 m away from a double flush-mounted socket. The woodchip wallpaper must definitely be preserved, so surface mounting of the cable is out of the question. Since I want to lay new laminate anyway, I thought about hiding the cable (NYM 3x1.5 mm) behind the skirting board (see sketches). I want to use a simple square cable duct for the section from the skirting board to the respective socket. Now I have the following questions:
Please advise. I am happy about any tips!
Thank you in advance.

[*]to the existing socket (flush-mounted):
What is the best way to route the branch outwards?
Is it allowed to drill a hole in the edge of the plastic cover? I would then cut the cable duct flush to the curve of the socket housing.
Or do I have to drill obliquely from the outside a few cm away from the socket and feed the cable through like that? (Of course not on the side where the existing cable already runs flush-mounted.)
Are there any other alternatives?
[*]Can the new socket also be a flush-mounted box even though the branch was surface-mounted? Then I would basically need the same, as clean as possible transition (surface-mounted <-> flush-mounted), which brings me back to question 1.
Please advise. I am happy about any tips!
Thank you in advance.
