No, it was not a cube, but yes, a stepped storey with up to 3 m setback, meaning on the ground floor each room has a floor and a roof and at least 2 exterior sides, on the upper floor a roof and at least 2 exterior sides. And then a total of 17 exterior surfaces and 42 exterior edges

The KFW standard is not meant to compare the euros in your wallet.

The absolute value already says a lot (under laboratory conditions).

And a normal house of this building form would require even more energy. That is what it shows.

Anyone who wants a nice, individual house shape (or is forced due to requirements from the building authority) has to pay the price for it.

Considering that every room in our house has four exterior walls, I find the value very good.

I also can't imagine that with the 7 rooms, 2 floors and each room having 4 exterior walls. 3, yes, but 4?

There are only two rooms that do not have 4 exterior walls (bathroom and children's room), but a hallway and a living room with 5 each.
