Reinforced concrete staircase, which covering would you choose?

Hello,

the topic says it all. What would you choose, and why?

I am currently leaning towards black granite because

- I don't want tiles or wood on the stairs
- it matches the dark / anthracite-colored tiles
- later I can still opt for a flatter covering

However, I would only want granite slabs about 3cm thick, the rest of the stairs would then be white.

Regards, Andi

We take wood and leave it white in the front as well.

I would definitely use a coating that is a bit more slip-resistant.

I also once had the argument about slip resistance in mind. But then I discarded it because the house is never really wet or damp, unless it has just been freshly mopped. When dry, granite probably wouldn’t be much more slippery than painted wood, right?

We have dark granite 3 cm (Nero Impala polished) with risers.

If there is a little bit of dust on the steps, the stairs are already quite slippery with my slippers...

No granite at all. Choose nice porcelain stoneware; there is also a greater selection. However, it is more difficult to install than a solid step. We particularly did not like that the granite is highly glossy.

Is there also porcelain stoneware in such "pieces"? What I absolutely do not want are joints on the stairs.
