There was no inspection at all with us, but regarding drainage, there were no requirements either. The rule was that infiltration must take place. No one prescribed how it should look and no one cared. We just poked holes in a few large barrels and buried them. Gravel and fleece around them, some gravel inside, lid on, done. It worked for 15 years with the old house with a similar roof area, and it will work again now. In very heavy rain, it sometimes overflows, but then it just infiltrates into the garden. We also have Märkischer sand, so it disappears quickly.

I wanted to ask in advance how I know how much I have to provide proof for. They referred me to some kind of water agency, telling me to ask there. I fool actually did that, but the sleeping dog wouldn’t wake up.

But we also have [märkischer Sandboden]. My wife is already planning with tons of transported humus.

It is, as always, probably also a matter of the country. In Lower Saxony, in our region, I do not know anyone who has been checked so far. On the other hand, if fees/taxes have to be paid for sealed surfaces, this will logically be checked - possibly by random sampling.

The fees were set and invoiced directly with the approval in our case.
For the relatively large sealed area, it came to something like 27.xx EUR. Nevertheless, the minimum fee at the office is 200 EUR, which was also billed accordingly :)

With infiltration on your own property, hopefully no fees will be charged anymore :) Spot checks are also done nowadays by the authorities based on maps/satellite images.... to see if the areas roughly match the approved ones.

For a few years now, they have been flying over randomly with a drone. Whether a pool has been built in the garden and so on :D The modern parking wardens indeed
