Hello everyone and good morning,

I have been dealing for several weeks now with the question of whether I should have a radio installed in the bathroom on the upper floor or not. If yes, which model and how do I handle the speakers? If I have a radio installed, I would like to have 2 speakers in the ceiling and not right next to the radio...

However, I also have a TV connection and network in the bathroom. Sooner or later, a corresponding waterproof (does it really have to be waterproof if no splashing water can reach it?) TV will be installed there. It is also possible to receive radio via that. Is it even worth spending the 200 euros on the radio then?

Who has a radio in the bathroom and cannot imagine life without it? Who has a TV and mainly uses it for sound or news during the morning routine?

Regards
Michael

Hi,

Sorry for my harsh reply, but what’s all the fuss about? Everyone should realize things according to their own ideas, but such a fuss in the bathroom? I somehow lack the proper understanding for that.

I know many people who have a radio/CD player there. It's a nice addition to the bathroom (in the sense of bathing). Personally, I consider a TV in the bathroom to be unnecessary, but everyone should do as they please.

Maybe I like to bathe long and often? Maybe my partner spends a lot of time in the bathroom? As you already said, everyone should realize themselves according to their own ideas. I'm sure you have also considered something in your house construction that makes me shake my head.

Hello,

Yes, we had briefly tested something like that before. Since our tub has not been used for many years (our new house will therefore not have one), I can understand that, but it is not an option for us personally. Only - TV and network? I just can’t get my head around that at all. I can/could/would not want to judge it, it’s just a matter of personal taste, but I want to be able to assess the reasons for myself. Maybe there is a reason I haven’t thought of that could actually be interesting.

Kermit

ps: Our new house is more geared towards a retirement home and as barrier-free or low-barrier as possible. Some of our ideas may seem terribly old school and totally out to some, but those would be the things that might be completely incomprehensible or are to others.

We also have network and satellite in our bathroom - of course quite questionable

Additionally, there are two speakers in the ceiling, which are operated through the system in the living room - switchable by button. I can then select the program via a mobile app.

In the children's bathroom, we "only" have a Gira-UP radio with two speakers in the ceiling and in the basement bathroom there is nothing at all - there you have to put a box in.
