Quite a lot of effort with planning, installing speaker cables, recesses for speakers - just to operate cheap speakers on a prehistoric old cheap receiver in the end. What's the point of that?! And what do you run on it? Radio? And which rooms?

I have a modern receiver with 3 zones. Unfortunately, no cables were planned for that back then. But I could still integrate speakers wirelessly. Control would be possible via tablet or remote control (Logitech Harmony) everywhere in the house.
