Hello everyone,

we will soon be buying our Ikea kitchen and are currently busy planning. During the planning, more and more questions keep coming up. Maybe you can help me.

I am searching in vain on the internet for the internal dimensions of the Maximera drawers low, medium, and large so I can weigh what fits inside. Do large Maximera drawers fit beverage crates or glass bottles? I am planning a Neff induction cooktop. Size 80cm and it should be installed centered on two 80cm cabinets. According to Neff’s description and many others as well, it needs to be ventilated behind by about 2cm and there must also be space below the cooktop down to the drawer. According to the assembly instructions, the base cabinets for the cooktop have a recess at the bottom. According to Ikea drawer depth, there should be at least 2cm of space. Theoretically, it is ventilated through the bottom recess, is that correct?

Regards, Itchy

hello itchy,
I only have the 45cm deep drawers because there is a water meter behind the drawer. I also had a water box in there before.

Hello Itchy, take a look at my photo gallery. I also installed an 80er Neff induction hob. No problem. Only with the side walls of the cabinets do you have to make a small recess at the top if the hob is to go over two cabinets. Everything else works without difficulties. Regards

Thank you for the quick responses. That all sounds very promising. Great that drink crates fit into a large Maximera drawer. And thanks again for the great picture. It looks good! That’s exactly how I imagined it. Very good!

@ Ikea User: I also read the thread, but didn’t really understand it. The heights of the drawers are not clear to me here.

@ jelimi: Yes, the cooktop really looks great! What about a narrow drawer? Can I also make a low drawer directly under the cooktop, or would it be too close to the cooktop, or has Ikea already considered all of that?

There is nothing against a drawer, as the Neff cooktop may protrude about 1 cm below the countertop. And a drawer has no relation to the top or cover plate, but is only attached at the sides.
