Firstly: Maybe because it wasn't done properly?

Secondly: Learning the hard way so it will be done correctly in the future?

Thirdly: I would be satisfied with written confirmation that nothing can or will happen there due to the absence of the protective tube, or if something does happen, then an extended warranty applies.

If you have the balls to claim that nothing will happen, then you should also have the balls to stand by it and take responsibility if something does happen.

Just as a try! That was estimated freely.

Hey,

can someone please explain to me what the protective tubes are about and what to look out for to ensure they are installed?

Currently, the plumbing company is working and will probably be finished by the end of next week. The screed is supposed to be applied sometime from [9.3.] onward.

Thank you very much!

DIN 18560 Part 2, if I am not mistaken, just look it up.

For movement joints that may only be crossed by connection pipes, protective pipes with a minimum length of 300mm must be provided.

This can be found similarly in the installation instructions of underfloor heating manufacturers and some information sheets. They describe how movement joints are to be designed, and there the protective pipes are also mentioned.
