I can’t imagine that. The general contractor usually wants to take the payment. Nothing usually goes directly to the electrician.

Due to the insolvency, it could of course be completely different. The OP might not want to reveal exactly what additional payment the electrician is demanding.

It doesn't always work the same way; with verbal agreements on the construction site, the general contractor is not the client. The original poster will figure it out. In any case, he doesn't have to pay anything that was specified in the scope of work or documented by the general contractor towards you - as has already been established. Beyond that, it depends on the particular communication channel.

The electrician also carried out additional work, e.g. network cabinet, additional sockets, and burner points. I contractually agreed with the general contractor that the heat pump must be able to cool. For this, a dew point monitor in a kind of remote control on the wall is required. This was included with the delivery of the heat pump but was not considered by the electrician. It only became apparent to me after the insolvency of the general contractor, and I put this as remaining work on the defect list for the electrician. He now says that this was not contractually included and that he would like nearly 1000 euros for drilling a hole, a 1-meter cable duct, and connecting the remote control.

Ok, now the situation looks a bit different. You have a contract with a [GU] for electrical work (e.g. 30k) but during the construction you called out to the electrician: "this, that, there". The electrician has (hopefully) still been paid the standard agreed with you by the [GU] and is now rightfully knocking on your door to collect the ?5k? for your "on-top wishes". If the work has been carried out and you have accepted it, then of course I would pay that. If there are still points open, he has to complete them first. If you are not sure what the [GU] had already priced in, you were already asleep during the offer phase and now it's a bit too late to wake up, my dear.

No, I have paid all the Ontop requests to the electrician. This only concerns the scope described above.

I would not pay exorbitant prices either. Then demand the calculation with proof of the calculated costs. If you do not have any contract with the electrician at all, refer to the GU. The electrician should check the services not performed or incorrectly performed and then pass them on to you. If the GU makes mistakes, that is not your problem.
