We also had such a problem and solved it by simply moving the hanging bracket a few holes down, with the corresponding drilling in the back panel of course. It has held perfectly so far. And if you put those plastic covers over the original hole, you can't even see that any tinkering was done.

Moving the holes around is a tricky thing:

1.) The 25-year warranty and guarantee are gone.
2.) You need to know what you’re doing and do it properly.
3.) You should have a sense of what the cabinet can still hold.
4.) Even after years, you should know which cabinet is attached how.

I believe, with point 4, it’s exactly the people who forget the fastest or give advice too quickly here who will recommend something that not everyone can implement. I trust myself to do such work, but I wouldn’t consider having someone else assemble my kitchen. I learned a craft profession, and screwing is part of our family, and I don’t give advice on things like this unless I’m 100% sure that the thread starter can solve them too.

That’s why I’m very careful with statements here: I’ve done that too, and it holds 100%.

Consider points 1-4, and then you can move the cabinet holes. Otherwise, just stay away from it.

Otherwise, really take a rail like you did and attach to it. That’s even easier than aligning all the cabinets perfectly, and I can compensate the 3-5 mm gap on the side with a cover panel if I want to.

That's right, Maverick, you should NEVER mess with things you have no knowledge of. That can quickly go wrong. When in doubt, it's better to be safe than sorry or to call in a professional who guarantees their work.

I really don't mean it badly. Unfortunately, I know of a case from our store where a customer was almost crushed because a wall cabinet, including its contents, fell on her. The customer was seriously injured, and the family made claims against Ikea. In the end, it turned out that the mounting was questionable. On the one hand, the wrong dowels, on the other hand, just a simple plasterboard wall, paper-thin! Ikea was not held responsible, but the bitter aftertaste remains. And the customer is still in rehab...

Therefore, NO EXPERIMENTS!
