I'll say it clearly, some of your sentences sound naive or half-baked. To have a real comparison between prefab and solid construction, you would have to own two different houses, one of each type, simultaneously or shortly one after the other, but that's unrealistic. Our neighbors have a Swedish wooden house from Eksjö; we have a solid Ytong house without external insulation (WDVS). They chose the wooden house because of the appearance, they are simply fans of Sweden. We chose the Ytong house because we didn’t want a polystyrene wall and because we found this particular builder trustworthy, and that’s just how he builds. In terms of price, both buildings were similarly expensive and are similarly sized bungalows. I couldn’t say ours is better or theirs is better. It’s just a matter of taste, of what appeals visually, and also partly a matter of chance regarding whom you get, who seems trustworthy to you. If the craftsmen work properly, both types of houses are of impeccable quality. Only one thing maybe: walls in composite systems, meaning wood, foil, insulation mats, are significantly more problematic in case of water damage than monolithic stone walls, which simply dry out again. The Kfw 40 nonsense isn’t worth it financially; it’s something for men who are infatuated with Baerbock and women who get feelings for Harbeck...K.
