I have to contradict myself now because I compared the thickness of our solid wall structure with a timber frame construction: no/almost no difference.

@kaho: solid houses are (unfortunately) also built airtight, so controlled residential ventilation makes a lot of sense, especially since the construction moisture from the mortar and co is also inside the building. Solid houses must also pass the blower door test.

Hello, the burglar is just as fast in the house! I would simply not feel safe in a wooden prefabricated house, the walls are relatively easy to break through. Besides, I see no advantage in a prefabricated house, only disadvantages. I can also build turnkey with bricks (without having to take care of everything myself) and the resale value is also higher. Best regards, Sabine

So if burglars soon start roaming around the garden with chainsaws, then we know - it’s a wooden house.

I believe there are many easier ways than breaking through the wall with a chainsaw...

If you house a Postbank in your house, you might be right.

But there are hardly any cooler ways to get into a house. Anyone can get in through a window or door... but directly through the wall and cutting through gas/water and electrical lines, that's something for professionals.
During my studies, I worked part-time as a locksmith... Hardly any window in Germany holds out for more than a minute if you know where to press.

We informed ourselves during the house construction... and the value of our furnishings was significantly lower than the cost for really secure windows.
Only at the front door, I am almost sure that no one gets through. I still had a few special cylinders at home that I installed... You don’t get far with a drill there... only with a diamond drill.
