Prefabricated house or solid construction - what is your opinion?

We are currently just before our construction start meeting - that will take place tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM. We are very excited - in three weeks the basement will be built and in October the house (we are building a [Holzständer-Fertighaus]).

Okay. That is good to know. Thanks! B*Z* caught our attention right at the beginning because of the geothermal energy.
Schw. recommends air/air heat pump. As far as heating is concerned, we still need to get more information.

We also spent a long time thinking about it...

In the end, we went with an air-to-water heat pump. Our provider now offers the air-to-air heat pump as a standard, but we definitely wanted underfloor heating and we didn’t like the air outlets of the air-to-air heat pump either – the outlets of the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] are much more discreet...

The problem with escalating costs arises either ... or when construction is carried out without a fixed price and with separate contract awards - here the architect estimates the costs - how this can end you can see in the respective posts here in the forum.

The costestimate already takes place in service phase 2, where only a very rough preliminary planning has been done. Later upward deviations, especially after realizing that one does not want to live as ascetically as planned, do occur. In phase 3, after the design planning, the costcalculation then takes place.

But it is clear. Whoever wants (cost) certainty cannot avoid a fixed price offer, which of course is not free.
