I believe that, besides the known standard dimensions in one's own living space, it always has to be how I personally feel comfortable with it. I know it from the kitchen, where, for example, my large fridge is placed where it "actually" shouldn't be. But I like it there and I'm willing to take 2-3 extra steps.
In my opinion, it's similar in the bathroom.
I like spacious, walk-in showers with a nice, wider showerhead. Glass only on the upper half because I don't like bending over when wiping it down. If there were really enough light, I might even do it without glass at all, but usually that's not the case, and no one wants to step into a dark hole.
A bathtub is also desired in our home (not by me -), but I would only install one if it had proper dimensions, i.e., 180 cm+ and the shower version mentioned above.
Since I have a full 49% voting right, I always make sure my preferences prevail accordingly!
I would only partially trust the installer's opinion on design matters (except, of course, technical issues) because beauty is indeed a very broad field.

I felt the same way about the kitchen, that the kitchen planner first had to be motivated to design the kitchen according to our wishes and not the other way around, objections are good but in the end the customer decides, after all, they live with it

Because of all the artificially created standards and absolute must-haves, you're really glad in the morning to leave the house and escape all the stress and ringing there. Living space must be a cave in my opinion......try telling a grizzly where to store the food in its den-

I wanted to point out that the 120 length mentioned above (front/earlier) for the shower is not sufficient without an extra door or for splash reduction. Out of laziness, I have a shower that is 180cm long. That is enough but not excessively large. Just in case you design a low-maintenance bathroom.

180cm is naturally great, happy to swap- Currently we have a 140 glass wall here and at the end a kind of "privacy screen" to the WC (what a term), which I find really comfortable. I basically shower without inhibition and some splashes always get on the tiles at the exit. Since this never goes completely without water even with a swing door or whatever, for my feeling this is not negative and on tiles with underfloor heating no extra work. 160cm would be better, your 180cm is of course presidential! The shower in the other bathroom is 120cm (couldn't be bigger) and on the wall side a glass strip of about 20cm. If you don't make it completely crazy, that's perfectly fine too, although the feeling might be better with a larger one. But in my opinion it's not a lazy compromise WITH this glass strip even without a door, if it can't be helped. In my next life it will also be one with 180-

A 180cm shower is already a dream, everything depends on the tub, I will discuss the topic again with my wife today. Without a tub, it would also be about a 180cm shower with 95cm width, if only one knew whether what one imagines actually happens.
