Positioning of the connections behind the refrigerator or cabinet?

attached you will find an excerpt from my kitchen plan. From left to right: patio door, fridge/freezer, cabinet. My question to you: Are the connections for the fridge (power and water) usually installed behind the fridge or as the kitchen planner recommends, behind the cabinet?

His argument: you can push the fridge closer to the wall.

My consideration: this way I see the ugly water hose + cable between the cabinet and the fridge (without knowing exactly how many cm this distance actually is).

Second question: How far would the fridge have to be pulled away from the wall if the connections were behind the fridge?

If this is an SbS with a water connection, then you should take a look at the installation manual of the refrigerator. A water connection behind the device usually requires much too much distance from the wall. The device could also be placed closer to the base cabinet row, there is only about 5 cm distance there. However, this is also to be taken from the installation manual of the refrigerator.

Thank you for the response! Yes, it is supposed to be a side-by-side refrigerator. However, everything is still in planning (kitchen and refrigerator - probably Liebherr). Therefore, I do not have an installation manual yet.

Can an approximate value be given?

Just take a look at the manual of a few refrigerators. And otherwise .. the faucet has to go there, you can calculate 10 cm. Counterproductive.

Remember that you always have to access the faucet again, for example for filter changes.
