Thank you very much for your answers.
So: I had cut the pond liner just above the bottom of the empty pond all around, and from the "base area" maybe only a small part remained (we are talking about perhaps 6 sqm, which was also torn up/shredded again with the excavator. I had additionally drilled holes with a spade and fork so that the pond would drain at all.
In hindsight, it was certainly not a sensible solution to fill the hole with a mix of surrounding stones and soil. But since the budget was a bit tight and we didn’t want to pay disposal costs in addition to the labor costs, we decided thoughtlessly to do so.
Meanwhile, grass has been sown and so far nothing has settled. I rather have the feeling that the ground where the pond was (or where the Bobcat drove over) is rock hard and puddles form very quickly when watering the lawn. Aeration might be the only help here (with shoes or does anyone have experience with high-pressure aeration?). Unfortunately, after applying the soil in early March, except for the rains in Brandenburg (the last was surely mid-April – mid-May sowing was done), nothing else was done with the soil except removing weeds before sowing and loosening it 2-3 cm deep with a hand rake. Watering was done only after sowing and rolling.
But what I find the most strange and would like some advice on is the following: we used RSM lawn seed, which germinated very well and the first few centimeters also grew wonderfully, it is also now lush green, but it hardly grows anymore and even where there are no puddles it is often patchy? So for over a month and it is maybe about 4 cm high now?
In other places where I loosened the soil with a motor cultivator, the lawn grows very densely and should be mowed. Could this be due to too much compaction? The new soil allegedly had an extra compost component and was sold to me as sowing soil.
What can I do about it? Does fertilizing and reseeding help in the places where the lawn was washed away before germination due to puddles?
Or do I have to remove the entire turf, loosen everything again with the motor cultivator, and reseed?
I don’t even want to talk about the masses of chamomile flowers on my lawn now. Although it probably isn’t in the new soil either, it should be eliminated by mowing the lawn, right?
