Hello dear forum readers!

Introduction and Motivation We want to redesign the attached floor plan and kindly ask for creative suggestions from the forum. We hope for good ideas that we would never have due to a certain bias ourselves.

Information such as load-bearing walls, routing of water and sewage is deliberately left out here in order not to restrict creative ideas. Questions of feasibility, financing, etc. should therefore also be disregarded.

Current Situation The current situation is shown in the attached file "EG_ist.jpg".

Additional Information - The building is detached. - The ground floor is about 1.5 m above the ground. The terrace is therefore on a "slope". - The adjacent street runs from left to right at the "lower end" of the floor plan (not shown). Wishes We are trying to implement the following ideas/wishes - one or even two more rooms – initially used as an office / later possibly as children's rooms - bathroom with exterior window - to the south (left on the floor plan) and to the west (top on the floor plan) there is a beautiful view that we would like to enjoy.

First Own Design The first own design is shown in the file "EG_neu.jpg". We are not really satisfied yet, as the access to the bathroom is through the living room.

We thank you in advance for any criticism and suggestions!

What is that supposed to be?! 3 WCs with 0.9 m³ and one of them with access under the stairs? Where is the entrance at all? I hope not also under the stairs... interior bathroom with 2.69 m²?! You don't need suggestions, but an architect or, for all I care, a model house. Bathroom accessible from the living room?!

By the way, it is a 100-year-old house, many things are not necessarily logical. We are not responsible for the current condition. Bit by bit, something was added here and there. How am I supposed to understand that with the model house? One of these toilets is in the basement. They are not next to each other. The entrance is at the bottom center in the drawing.

Okay, that explains it :D Or rather, I probably should have read - sorry. The staircase that is drawn in is the staircase to the basement? So now about the plan: I would also possibly recommend a professional here - especially because pipes etc. might be fixed. Structural engineering is also not always so straightforward. Bathroom from the living room doesn't work... or rather, I wouldn't do that. Is a swap of kitchen and bedroom possible? Then you can have the bathroom as an en-suite room off the bedroom - a separate guest toilet is present after all.

The current state is unfortunately not very legible.
Then the question is, what about [OG]? Should that be separated? Where does one enter the floor? Is there a basement? .. e.g. because of building services and how should one imagine the access? Is the complete house access possibly via the basement and you come up from below with the stairs on the east side?
You cannot simply consider floors in isolation.
One would need to know what exactly is being remodeled. Is everything being completely gutted, floors removed, etc.? Information like load-bearing walls, especially if these have already been determined or if it is already known which walls can be removed (leaving stubs, etc.) is already important.
EDIT:
In addition, you also need to know a little about what you want to do or accommodate in individual rooms, etc. Everyone has a different lifestyle after all.
About your idea:
Bathroom through the living room is out of the question. You have to stop right away. ;)

For existing buildings, you have the constraints of the structural engineering. Period. You cannot just ignore load-bearing walls. Therefore, it is complete nonsense to doodle whatever you wish on the plan. Please mark the load-bearing walls and specify how many people this level is supposed to accommodate. What is above it? You already mentioned that the ground floor is suspended 1.50 meters high ;) You have stated the requirements, but it is still somewhat unclear. Also, the wastewater supply would be interesting for the location of the bathroom and kitchen. Then the ambitious forum members can also provide you with realistic tips for the planning. Regards, Yvonne
