And that in a single bed. I'm really tough...

No, it's great if the room offers the possibility that maybe a bigger bed can fit, but I don't think any teenager will die if there is still a single bed. I consider enough power outlets to be much more important.

As a teenager, you do have a few words to say about furnishing your own room. And then the teen can decide whether a big bed is important to them or a huge desk with gaming equipment. If both don’t fit in the room, you just have to decide what’s more important. That is a step towards growing up and will do no harm to anyone.
