Technology keeps advancing. It will probably still take 13-15 years until just-born children have a game console in their own room. By then, everything will probably just be streamed anyway and consoles will be obsolete. I would never come up with the idea of installing more than one can per room (except the living room) just so the kids can game better. And I say that as someone who spent a large part of their free time between the ages of 15-19 playing online games.

It’s not about gaming itself, but about the devices. How many of them today no longer even have a network port?

Don't the new ultra-thin notebooks not even have a LAN port anymore?

I got a 1.4m bed when I was about 6-7 years old, a bit higher with storage space underneath (solid wood) but not a bunk bed. I thought it was so great. I had the bed until I moved out at 17, it was then passed on to family friends. My husband (we met at 15) had a 1.2m bed, which was rather too small for the two of us, the 1.4m was fine. I would plan the 1.4m bed; if it’s only 1.2m, the sockets are just a bit further away....

but for a 3-year-old, I would also find 1.4m exaggerated.

With a wider bed, you can also plan a row of pillows along the long side so that it can basically be used as a sofa (that’s how it was for me :P)

Many new devices no longer have a network port, but only communicate via Wi-Fi or other wireless standards. Before I lay a cable (which might also have to be bought), I connect the device via Wi-Fi and that's fine. That is completely sufficient for 95% of cases. In a new house, I would also install network sockets, but only a maximum of one per room.

Every children's room has a ceiling outlet for an access point. And then, in case of doubt, all stationary devices without LAN are assigned fixedly to this access point.
