Hello,

I am currently planning my new Ikea kitchen and have a problem with the planning of the 211cm tall cabinet, into which an oven and directly above it a microwave are to be installed.

In the pictures of the mentioned tall cabinets with doors or drawers, I always see that the lower doors/drawers are flush with the other base cabinets. However, in the 3D planning tool, I see a gap at the height of a drawer front. If I install an IKEA oven, the oven’s bottom edge is thus at the height of the base cabinet fronts. But this is not what I want. The oven’s bottom edge should practically be at the height of the drawer fronts! Accordingly, the fronts should also be dimensioned.

I wouldn’t see a problem if I had chosen a straight front without decorations, but with Lidingö it is difficult to simply shorten the fronts and put edge banding on.

The question now is, can I install a normal oven, which also fits in the normal IKEA base cabinet, into such a tall cabinet with microwave and get the fronts to fit properly?

Regards
Milenio

The cabinet has either a 26 cm or 31 cm drawer front at the bottom or a 57 cm high door. The bottom edge of the oven then aligns approximately with the bottom edge of a drawer of an adjacent base cabinet. As I understood you, that is exactly what you want.

Well, not quite. The bottom edge of the stove is supposed to align with the top edge of the drawer. The stove used also aligns with the floor it stands on. In the picture, it looks as if the support floor for the stove is flush with the top edge of the drawer front. Accordingly, I would have a gap under the stove the size of a drawer front...

Hehe I also have the problem... And also lidingö- I got Siemens appliances... I have the tall cabinet with the door on top and 2 drawers below... I will have to saw one front tomorrow... But since it is a narrow front, it should hardly be noticeable if the cut edge is facing upwards...
