You should still enter the house through the location of the current front door – only the access to the storage room should be from the extension so that it can be used better. The current storage room door would then have to be bricked up. We discussed the door to the living room extensively with our builder – everything from an open passageway to a sliding door was on the table. A wide hinged door would shrink the bathroom because the frame would be wider than the hallway, a sliding door running inside the wall would shrink the kitchen due to our construction method because it would be realized by an additional drywall, and a wall-mounted sliding door is not desired because of the low sound insulation, since my husband often works night shifts, needs to sleep during the day, and I regularly stress in our current rental apartment trying not to be too loud with the children (which is practically impossible). In the end, only the standard-sized hinged door remained. What is quite good is that you don’t have to maneuver with the door from the hallway but only go straight ahead. Best regards
