Placement of garage between house and boundary

Think along the lines of a "closed carport attached to the house with a gate in front and a door at the back".

We need to pursue that idea, thank you! What is especially important to us is that our bikes stand "securely," as they are worth significantly more than our cars combined, at least as of today.

What makes the bikes particularly vulnerable is visible standing around. If the bikes are so exclusive that they are a targeted goal, even the garage doesn’t help. For bikes that cost so much that losing them really hurts, there are insurances. Since we carry our Cannondale pedelecs piggyback with the box van, we bought such a package (from Ammerländer). If electrified bikes have removable parts: take the battery and control unit off the bike in the garage and store them separately. Also lock the bikes in the garage. This makes the bike much less valuable to a thief and more annoying to carry away. Then they just take another bike.

Or calculated differently: For the lower price of the prettier and more space-efficient wooden solution, you can insure the wheels for many years.

What do you think it costs to have a 4x6 garage built by a construction company? So foundation slab, masonry, plastering, flat roof, electrical, gate, etc...
