Hello everyone,

a question regarding insulating filling on heating pipes.

We have the following 22cm floor construction on the concrete slab on the ground floor, consisting of (from bottom to top):

    [*]~0.5cm welding membrane
    [*]6+5cm Styrofoam insulation boards
    [*]3cm insulated tack mat
[*]6cm screed with underfloor heating pipes
    [*]1.5cm floor coverings

6+5cm insulation boards because most of the pipes on the floor slab are 4-6cm high and we wanted to lay the second layer of insulation boards continuously. Water and heating pipes are to be leveled with Mehabit-bound filling up to the top edge of the first layer.

However, there are now also 2 heating pipes including insulation jacket with a height of 8cm on the floor slab. How do we proceed here?

Current plan: We lay both layers up to the pipes, then fill up to 11cm and simply put the tack mat on top.
Is this okay or should there definitely be a firmer insulation board under the tack mat?

Best regards

I first had a complete 5 cm insulation layer with WLG 032 laid without interruption. In the overlying 2nd insulation layer (laid crosswise to the 1st insulation layer) with WLG 032 are the water pipes, of course insulated. On this 2nd layer comes the 3 cm stapler mat.

Simply put the tack mat on. You can be completely relaxed (unless you need 30cm wide channels for the heating pipes).

That doesn't help me regarding my question. The 8 cm heating pipes are already in place. Basically, my question is how to compensate the 3 cm below the tack mat there.

But that means you have to level out the 3cm with screed, right?

Since we're on the topic: actually, I have 5-6cm high flat ducts of the ventilation system on the floor upstairs.
There, 6+2cm insulation is planned. The ducts are about 15cm wide, and in one spot there are even 2-3 next to each other.
I hope I can lay the 2cm insulation evenly over them. If not, would that be more of a problem with leveling screed over the entire area?

Yes, just pour it in.

No, no problem.
