Hello everyone,

does anyone have a special parcel mailbox or are planning to get one? We are both working full-time and would prefer not to bother our neighbors with package deliveries.

How do parcel mailboxes work (the postman must have the possibility to leave the package and it must not be opened afterward?)

It is not a must - just a consideration.

I am very happy to receive answers. Thanks =)

No, better use the Packstation (DHL).
Contra parcel box: big, ugly, purchasing costs money and serves only one delivery company at a time. The latter is a deal breaker.

Dhl gets a drop-off location again. Has worked flawlessly for years. Hermes as well, they just regularly misplace the authorization. I have other parcel services sent to work.

we have a parcel mailbox. it cost about 200€ on Amazon and besides the mailbox it also includes a parcel deposit box. all the major shipping companies except dpd (except with authorization to deposit for each individual parcel) put their parcels in there. the mechanism is pretty simple. a spring keeps the mechanism open so you can open the door once to put something inside. when you close the door, it only opens with the key. then you reset the spring and the next parcel can be placed inside. our postman knows the system, hermes is no problem anyway. i don’t know when the last time i had to pick up a parcel at the post office was. and i order a lot from Amazon...

unfortunately i don’t have a nice picture of the box. here’s just a look at what it looks like. (product for google search: savepost 95)

we would do it again! only next time maybe a bit more high quality. nowadays there’s only junk to buy...
