Hello,

I have lime-cement plaster throughout the entire house and first want to have everything white and maybe set a few accents after moving in.

The idea is simply to paint everything white at first or possibly wallpaper.

What did you do with your lime-cement plaster? Is silicate paint worth it or is the difference in room climate compared to dispersion paint rather small? What should I watch out for?

Does anyone perhaps even have wallpapers?

Many thanks to you

The plaster is very rough. You need to put a lot of filler on it. In that sense, wallpaper wouldn't be extra work because you save a lot of filling there. We have it in the bathroom and kitchen, otherwise gypsum plaster. On the lime cement plaster, we applied a layer of sto fill to get rid of coarse voids. Then fiberglass on top, painted with stocryl. But where there is no moisture, normal wall paint also works. I don't find anything strange about the air in the rooms. Fiberglass everywhere would be too expensive for me and is also a bit boring. Just look for an Anaglypta. Or do one wall in textured plaster. Not everything white and smooth, that's dull. Karsten

In the bathrooms we have lime-cement plaster, otherwise also gypsum plaster. The lime-cement plaster is very rough and sandy. I will sand it down tomorrow to get rid of the outermost protruding grains. Then it will be wallpapered (woodchip wallpaper), at least the painter says that is not a problem. Maybe you write to me again next week, then I can give you information as to whether the wallpaper is up and apparently holding (after painting).

In terms of quality, the plaster would at least be paintable without putty work. It turned out very smooth.

If you don't find the smooth walls too bare or if you are more the wallpaper type, then paint the walls. Saves a lot of work and money, I would say.
