Hello everyone,
we have an approximately 650sqm2 plot and are planning a single-family house with a gable roof of about 135sqm. Currently, the exterior dimensions of the house are 10.8x9m. The knee wall is currently about 1.25m, but measured to the unfinished floor. The position of the house on the plot is already fixed for us due to the orientation and the building boundary. The terrace is almost facing south with a very slight tendency to the east. The plot is somewhat larger towards the south than shown in the picture.
Our wishes were
- a straight living-dining area
- about 4m of kitchen units on one wall
- small office on the ground floor
- half-turn staircase
- small cloakroom in the hallway
- entrance area not too narrow
- staircase not in the dirty area
- not to build too large
Actually, we were almost finished with the self-planning and I was just working on the detailed planning. The longer you wait, the more thoughts come up.
The utility room was planned on the west side because the house connections are located in the west/south corner of the plot. The bathroom is directly above it.
Now comes my wife's strong wish to mirror the house so that the utility room faces east towards the neighbor and the office towards the garden/street.
The argumentation:
- You spend a long time in the office and that side is nicer
- The utility room forms a unit with the garden part on the west side, which is also intended as a work area with a shed.
The problem is that the bathroom and bedroom are not to be swapped. We need a minimum of 3.4m width for the bedroom and this cannot be realized that way. I have already spent hours trying to find a solution.
What do you think about the swap regarding the house connections and the longer water line inside the house from the utility room to the bathroom?
Do you have an idea how the problem can be solved? By now, we would also give up the half-turn staircase, but even with another type of staircase I have not succeeded so far.
Otherwise, I would also appreciate feedback regarding other things. Many thanks in advance.
