And why do people put up with that? So that they can build at a (supposed) fixed price. In the end, you still pay up anyway.

€13,000 for the washbasin. That is neither justifiable for the service nor for the material. These are purely esoteric prices because the customer has already signed. You can take advantage of that.

As far as I remember, it was about the entire "system" with mirror. So a few thousand can easily go on that, five figures is of course steep...

I am interested, as I posted earlier, in the washbasin from Keuco. Would you like to specify its name so that I and others can get an idea? Basically, everyone should install whatever they like and choose, but it may be that there are alternatives that are equivalent. For example: we always liked mirrors that cost €2000 in the showroom. Now we ordered a custom-made equivalent (at least in terms of appearance with one drawback, but another advantage) mirror online for €309. The mirror was not included with the house supplier anyway. Also, with base cabinets from the carpenter or kitchen manufacturer (or Ikea), you can assemble the same design for much less money. Faucets are usually available in a similar design from other companies, but they do not exhibit them; in a showroom, you usually find the significantly more expensive furniture. Often, however, one can accept some compromises if the price is many times cheaper. After installation, you then happily think of the washbasin with the low price and can also enjoy the appearance.

OK, then that was a misunderstanding. I assumed that the connections were laid and the tiles were cut out at that spot.

13000, wow. I would have myself buried in that to not waste the money. Our washbasin with a mirrored cabinet cost us an extra 1300€ and was at the top of the list. However, there would also have been a cabinet that would have cost an extra 5000€. An utterly ugly piece in my opinion and only suitable for a 30sqm bathroom, as it was so oversized.
