Actually, it should be enough for drilling tiles if you center punch with the drill and then drill slowly and carefully. I also installed our shower cabin myself and nothing chipped while drilling. And the drill bits certainly were not the newest ones. And I have to agree with , hanging a washbasin is really not rocket science. Likewise, installing a toilet on the wall. Once the pre-wall element is in place, it's actually quite simple.

With the right drill bit on the machine, drilling is no problem at all. I have also hung up some washbasins/comparable and not a single hole has cracked, you just have to avoid pressing full force right from the start...

I am having the few holes drilled by the plumber. With 80x80 porcelain stoneware on the wall, I am being cautious.

This necessarily requires that the plumber knows how to set the connections. 18, 22 or more centimeters do make a difference

Drilling is not really a problem. With a diamond drill, a steady hand and a proper drill – and for reassurance a plaster over the hole to be drilled, anyone can manage that who doesn’t exactly have two left hands.

But surprise – the OP doesn’t have to drill at all; the tilers take care of that for him. After all, the hangers for the washbasin have to be cut out

Edit: visual material supplied

Rhenish regards

Do they have to? In our case, the washbasin was simply screwed firmly through the tiles (grout lines?).
The only condition set by the furniture store installers for the fastening was double plasterboard.

PS: Correction... I meant the base cabinet. How the washbasin is fastened, I would first have to check.

It is common practice that the tilers are up first before the final installation. Somewhere in your bathroom the cold/hot water connections (sealed with construction plugs) also come out of the wall. So yes – it also looks cleaner if the tiler is good. Rhineland greetings
