We have a switch and a motion detector. However, the switch is not always on, but only when I need light for a longer time than the motion detector allows. For example, when I go to the laundry area and hang up clothes. Or if I want to do something in the yard and don't want to risk the light going off in between. For the short way, for example to the car or motorcycle, the motion detector is sufficient. It is set to 3 minutes and only operates from dusk.

We have the outdoor lights without a switch… and that really annoys us. Just like everyone is writing here.. every animal and every stronger breeze… and the lights turn on. In addition, some of the LED lights have recently started to turn off with an annoying blinking. To turn them off, we have to use the fuse.. really stupid.

If the switch in the hallway bothers you, then just have it installed in the utility room or an adjacent room. I wouldn't do without it. I do think that in some situations the motion detector triggers falsely.

In addition to this good idea: maybe simply install a switch in the fuse box. Or have it protected separately. Of course, only if the fuse box is easily accessible.

Yes, we have combined: lamp with motion sensor, but we can turn it off via the light switch. And we do that, for example, at Halloween, Christmas lighting, or when you have to go out in the evening "in a bathrobe" for the trash or something and don’t want to be seen.
